News and Regulatory Updates

This page tracks FDA and USDA recalls, DSCSA updates and state laws that affect food, beverage and pharmaceutical packaging lines. Many recalls trace back to the package itself, such as an allergen missing from a label, a date code in the wrong format, or particles found in a container. Each entry says what happened, what it means for a plant, and links to the official notice.

Hoagie rolls recalled because the label left out sesame

WinCo Foods of Boise, Idaho is recalling its WinCo Foods brand Hoagie Rolls (16 oz, UPC 2-70552-00649-2, best-by dates 9/10/2026 to 11/3/2026) because the packaging did not declare sesame. The manufacturer, United States Bakery, found that sesame flour was missing from the ingredient list and the allergen statement. The rolls went to WinCo Foods stores in CA, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT and WA.

What it means for your plant: When a recipe or ingredient changes, check at changeover that the label on the line lists every allergen in the new formula before the first case ships.
