Upgrades for the vision systems on your line.

The station still runs, but it lets defects through, rejects good product, or the camera model is end of life. We tune it, swap what is worn out, or replace it, and keep the PLC handshake and the reject working.

Based in Carlsbad, on site across North County San Diego, San Diego County and Southern California.

Who it is for

Who is a vision system upgrade for?

If this is you

False rejects slow the line

Good product goes in the reject bin, and someone keeps widening the tolerances to keep running.

If this is you

Defects still get through

A wrong label, a missing cap or a bad code reaches the customer even though a camera is watching.

If this is you

The model is end of life

Spares are hard to find, the software runs on an old PC, or nobody has a backup of the job file.

If this is you

Changeovers break the recipe

Every new label or product means a call to the one person who knows the setup.

What you get

Four kinds of upgrade.

Each one starts from what is on your line today. Tell us the camera or vision system model and what it is missing.

Recipe and tool tuning

Scope
One station on a running line, with the hardware you have.
Work
New or re-tuned tools, cleaner thresholds, and recipes set up for each product and label.
Codes
Barcode, 2D code and OCR reads tuned for the codes you print.
You keep
A backup of every job file, and notes on what changed and why.

Camera, lens and lighting swaps

Scope
A worn, failed or wrong camera, lens or light on an existing station.
Work
The imaging is worked out on your samples first, then the parts are swapped and the recipe is retuned.
Fit
We keep the mount, cabling and I/O where they still do the job.

End-of-life replacement

Scope
A smart camera or vision PC that can no longer be bought or supported.
Path
A current smart camera, or a PC with GigE Vision cameras, chosen for the inspection. We do not resell one brand.
Cutover
Bench tested on your samples, then installed in a shutdown window.

PLC handshake and reject logic

Scope
The trigger, the result and the reject between the camera and your PLC.
Work
Timing, tracking and reject confirmation checked and cleaned up, so the right pack leaves the line.
Records
Each reject can be logged with its image, its reason and the time. See Traceability.

How it works

How does a vision system upgrade with JM Automated Solutions work?

01–03

The same start as every JM job

Tell us about the system, a 20-minute call, then a written, fixed quote. See how every JM project starts.

04

Assessment on the running line

We need the model numbers, a backup of the job or recipe files if you have one, samples of good and bad product, and the line speed. How an assessment works.

05

Bench test on your samples

The new recipe, camera or light is tested on your product before it goes near the line.

06

Install in your shutdown window

The upgraded station first runs with the reject turned off, so your team can review its decisions before it rejects anything.

07

Handover

Backups, recipe notes and a record of every setting that changed.

Where the hardware supports it, setting changes are recorded and access is controlled, so the upgraded station is designed to support your validation. Vision inspection supports your quality program; it does not replace FDA-mandated testing.
